Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Jack W — 17 Apr 2010
The King of Comedy is a very overlooked Scorsese gem. A very dark and twisted comedy, it carries some hints of Taxi Driver in Robert DeNiro's character Rupert Pupkin. However unstable Pupkin might be however, you can't help but root for him, as unsympathetic and pathetic as he may be, he certainly retains a charm to him.
Robert DeNiro has never been funnier and crazier than here, and it all pays off. A must see for Scorsese lovers!
