Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Bobb B — 05 Feb 2011
Reminded me of Taxi Driver and Cape Fear, but not as elaborate. What I enjoyed the most was that minor characters (like the lawyer, ''Who I am? I am the one who sues everybody!'' and the prod.
Ass. who mocked De Niro's stage name The King) were way funnier than De Niro's antihero. It was not a usual Scorsese, played around a lot with narrative and dramaturgy which stimulated but also surprised.
