This Scorsese gem is a brilliant satire on the fickle world of entertainment. Ahead of its time, it paints a satirical image of the ludicrous stunts required nowadays to actually start a career in the world of "art and entertainment.
" De Niro also gives an amazingly creepy performance as the delusional Rupert Punkin. Check this one out if you get a chance.
