Review of The King and I (1956) by Lorenzo M — 02 Jan 2008
Captivating performances from two very charismatic leads. Yul Brynner IS the king of Siam...etc, etc, and etc!
This is the first time I've ever seen it, and the ending took me by surprise. No "hollywood" ending here, but just a bitersweet conclusion. Also, the colors are exceptionally vibrant and the backdrops are AMAZING. Uncle Tom's Cabin Siamese style..."very clever!".
