Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Haroon K — 19 Jan 2008
A story of how the khmer plunged Cambodia into utter darkness. The performances from the whole cast is fantastic, its also well written and directed. Though Mike Oldfields music does not fit with the films location nor the time period.
Whilst thought of using John Lennons Imagine would be cheesy, when the first bar plays in the last scene it would be a person made of stone not to be over whelmed by reflection of the tragic events. However the end of the khmer wasn't the end of warfare for this country, which did not see peace until the late nineties and I would urge all to go to this wonderful country.
