Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Noah N — 03 Mar 2013
Killing Fields is going down the history as one of the greatest films ever made about the ground reality of war in Cambodia. Somehow we tend to shy away from watching harrowing films because they are obviously hard to watch and keep us up at night.
But next time you feel like you want a dose of reality and intelligence, go out of your way and watch this tearjerking film, you will walk away feeling elated, knowledgeable and simply human. If we don't see it, we won't understand the degree of adversity.
Dr. Hang S. Ngor's personal life story adds to the tragedy. Soundtrack is top notch. Movie truly deserves all the accolades. The scenes of destruction and killing are fierce and overwhelming. The story of friendship is deeply moving.
The movie is a must see.
