Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Arjane X — 11 Feb 2009
The very first movie I saw as a tot... this really made me cry..no I friggin' wept. It was made in the year of my birth and the introduction to this movie was what started my love affair with history the different worldly philosophies.
I haven't even started kindergarten and I was already asking questions about the Khmer Rouge and why the world I've been born into and initially made to believe was good could have so much hate in it.
The doctor who won an academy award for this movie was assassinated a year after. I still keep the Reader's Digest copy of his story with me.
