Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Nathan M — 22 Feb 2013
Joffé presents a heavy slice of humanity within the horrendously thuggish confines of the barbaric Khmer Rouge revolution. Haing S. Ngor is wrenching as the main Cambodian character. The atrocities of the Khmer Rouge wannabe communists are unbelievable.
Anytime a movement or cult mobilizes children for militant murder no good can come of it. 'd say that this film easily outpaces "Platoon" in terms of Vietnam War and related films. (21 February 2013).
