Review of The Killing (1956) by Dustin G — 06 Oct 2008
This is a wonderful early film noir from the master Kubrick. As a heist movie, the attention to detail and execution of the heist, not to mention the forward-reverse structure, are very smart and well filmed.
It's a short movie, probably partially due to the fact that Sterling Hayden has most of the lines and he spit them out at a rapid pace throughout the whole film. I loved the lighting in the movie.
It looks great. Very entertaining.
