Kubrick's best film. No other film has been more exciting the this to me. Don't think that it just wastes time between the beginning and the robbery, the dialogue is VERY "hard-boiled", and I don't think any other film has lived up to the idea of it better than this one.
This is the most influential heist film, it is the one that everybody rips off, not only is it the first successful of it's kind, it is the absolute best. Also, it is the most well-rounded/balanced of Kubrick's films.
I am a huge fan of Kubrick and ALL of his films, Lolita to 2001 to Clockwork to Eyes Wide Shut toFull Metal Jacket, this takes the cake by a long shot. I encourage everyone to see it, because I cannot see how anyone could find this unappealing and boring.
