Review of The Killers (1946) by Andrejs P — 05 Jun 2010
Double cross-ladden plot from Ernest Hemingway is well cast with the always magnetic Burt Lancaster as the tragic central character and plenty of film-noir style from director Robert Siodmak. Although I honestly enjoyed the later version directed by Don Siegel (Siegel was the original choice for director in 1946) much more, this version of the story is equally compelling viewing thanks to its cinematagraphy and cast.
