Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Cheryl D — 24 Oct 2010
Brutally violent, risque, just plain hard to watch examination of what it takes to become a sadistic killer, that is also very rewarding on deeper artistic levels. Casey Affleck, who's finally getting the lead roles he's always deserved, comes into his own here, rendering a psychotic killer with a convincingly cold nature, mixed with a dash of pathos and just a tiny bit of sympathy in some quieter scenes.
The film is also smoothly paced, beautifully shot, and contains hints of black humor, particularly during the conclusion.
