Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Jc E — 10 Jan 2011
This movie had promise, but it never realized its potential. The premise of a small-town cop with secrets is very intriguing, but it fails to evolve into something relevant and the end seems to be a cop-out.
Even though Casey Affleck (Gone Baby Gone) hasn't proven himself an accomplished enough actor to lead a movie, there's no denying that he's got some talent if he applies himself correctly.
The co-starring ladies - Jessica Alba (Machete) and Kate Hudson (Nine) are nice to look at, but that's really all they have to offer. It tries hard to capitalize on the violent, disturbing behavior of its protagonist/antagonist, but it falls short of being captivating.
The whole story seems to drag on, with only minor points of interest. It's really too bad, but there's a lot of movies with potential like this that end up spoiling it.
