Review of The Kids Are All Right (2010) by Hannah D — 22 Oct 2013
This is very involving, thanks not least to the lesbian couple Nic and Jules. Nic is the sensible one who wants a stable family life, while Jules craves excitement so has an affair with the sperm donor who their two children bring into their lives.
Even though it's described as being a comedy-drama, it's more serious than funny. It's a high-quality drama that doesn't need the comedy tag appended to it. The only reason people might give it low marks is if they thought it was going to be rib-tickling hilarious.
