Review of The Kid from Spain (1932) by Greg W — 01 Apr 2009
I wish more people had heard of this film. While technically crude (it was a very early talkie), For me it's funnier and smarter then the classic screwball comedies to come later on in the decade.
I Caught it by accident on the box one night and it had me in absolute stitches from start to finish. Eddie Cantor is obviously like any funnyman going to be a acquired taste, But for me this is one of the funniest film's ever made, with more classic gags and situations per minute than todays so-called- comedy film's. Dated but under-rated, give it a go.
