Review of The Karate Kid Part II (1986) by The Impetus Of Being: 1983 — 16 Jun 2008
I have remembered the lines to the scene in which Daniel first sees Miyagi's father, bed (or in this case, tatami)-ridden and exclaims, "If I a dreaming, let me never awake. If I am awake, let me never sleep.
" The emotional toll of seeing your friend lose his father was the best thing to see in this buddy movie and remains my all time favorite of the series. I fell in love with Japan after seeing this, and am still a fan of the country.
The only thing I didn't really like is the overplayed insult to "honor." But still a good movie.
