Review of The Karate Kid Part II (1986) by Jonathan R — 02 Mar 2011
With solid acting, intense fights to the death, bloody Martin Kove fist, and a heartfelt soundtrack Karate Kid II is easily the best of the trilogy. Not only does this deliver two great love stories and a great reuniting of old friends this movie produces one of the greatest insults of the 80's.
Telling someone at a club or bar: "you dance pretty good, like geisha!" using flamboyant gestures for the last word was one of the most used insults for the following 4 years after the movie debut.
Also the drum punch was an excellent addition to the crane kick and this combo allowed skinny nerds to fight off bullies for generations to come. A+++ Daniel san and Miyagi sama.
