I loved this sequel! It was much more interesting and original than it's predecessor and it introduces the customs and culture of Okinawa with a touching storyline and quite frankly brilliant cinematography.
Yes it did feel more contrived like a tv movie, but honestly that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the film at all!
