The Karate Kid demonstrates a lot of what the 1980s was about, from the fashion and music, to the sort of sentimental moments found in this underdog story, which is pretty predictable. Even still, that doesn't stop it from being an enjoyable movie since it exudes a sense of charm, mostly brought upon by the chemistry between Daniel and Mr.

Miyagi (Macchio and Morita). This dynamic is a pretty interesting one, and some of the scenes featuring Daniel's training actually makes for some genuinely great movie moments.
