Review of The Karate Kid (1984) by Jake D — 27 Aug 2009
When we first meet Daniel he is without a father and in a completely new city, far from his hometown of Jersey. Daniel eventually learns karate from a neighbour Mr. Miyagi. Mr. Miyagi is almost a father for Daniel, but know one would ever call their relationship father and son.
It's a friendship and bond very close and strong. Daniel learns the art of karate, but also important life lessons, and finds himself becoming a great and kind man like Mr. Miyagi. This movie is an all time classic, and a piece of art that will be enjoyed forever.
Thank you Pat for your part as Mr. Miyagi, he was one of my all time movie heros. The final scene with Johnny and Daniel on the match point to win the Hill Valley tournament is one that will never be forgotten.
Cheers to a great movie and a great life Pat! And remember, always look eye!
