Review of The Karate Kid (1984) by Yelsew Z — 08 Jul 2014
The original 1984 Karate Kid was really good, unlike the recent reboot... (shudder) (it wasn't even Karate anymore! The title of the movie is KARATE kid not kung fu kid! but oh well you can't complain.
) I liked Macchio's and Morita's chemistry in this movie. Daniel's and Mr. Miyagi's conversations with each other through out the course of the movie really had a sense of comfortableness and naturalness that felt, well, natural.
Some parts of the movie though are just really slow and I wish would've summarized that part at least a little. The movie is predictable yes, but seeing how everything plays out is a treat. Overall really exciting to see Daniel turn from a guy who doesn't know martial arts to a guy who knows martial arts.
