Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by Melody L — 25 Sep 2016
CGI - Godly.
Story - Shit.
Characters - Shit (With exception to their aesthetics).
Lesson/Moral - This movie doesn't even know what that means.
Worth your time, unless you have better movies to watch. It's true that this movie's CGI is a new standard, but if I may reiterate....
Story - Shit. There are no consequences for the character's actions, and for some reason our main character is some kind of Gary Sue. Anyone he gets along with survives (with the sad exception of one dude everyone gives zero fucks about), and anyone who disagrees with him or has a different goal, no matter how good-willed, will be killed. Simple-- it's a biased story from the kid's perspective, so it will be told in a way that antagonizes anyone who interfered with him.
