Review of The Joy Luck Club (1993) by Keiko N — 23 Jun 2007
This is a complete tear-jerker. I don't think anyone in the theater walked out without crying. Second generation orientals would probably relate to this movie and others would learn to understand the cultural gaps.
It explains a lot about the difficulty of relationships between the parents of one culture with the offspring raised in the North American ideals. A great movie that should have been included amongst the Academy Award nominees.
