Review of The Joy Luck Club (1993) by Pavithra K — 02 Jul 2011
4 stories are knit together to demonstrate the unfailing bonds in a mother-daughter relationship. I've never read the book, and I find the movie very satisfying. Being an Asian girl, most of the aspects are so common and very easy to relate to.
The courage shown to change these deep-rooted social stigmas, is very positive. The movie is all about brave, level-headed and gorgeous asian women.
