When this story shows the Chinese lady leaving her children by the tree with all her last worldly possessions I saw my own childhood, when I was left at the doorstep - though for very different reasons not so selfless.
I watched this movie four times in one sitting a turned on the water-works for the entire 8 hours. Riveting emotional drama!! This must be Amy Tan's ultimate gift to the world.
