Review of The Joneses (2010) by Roland W — 20 Aug 2010
Smart, darkly funny satire, set in the rat race-y world of marketing, provides Moore, Duchovny and Heard with juicy roles they can sink their teeth into.
Plucky, incisive script by first time director Borte gets scared of its own nastiness instead of embracing it, therefore succumbing to moral fingerpointing during the last fifteen minutes of a somewhat heavy handed and conventional finale.
Gary Cole is a standout as the Joneses' smarmy neighbor, and the wonderful Glenne Headly gets disappointingly little to work with.
