Review of The Joneses (2010) by Viccy K — 26 Dec 2010
Very interesting premise: can one's life really be defined by the products you buy and use? According to this movie, yes. Demi Moore and David Duchovny are the Joneses, who move into an affluent neighborhood with the perfect teenagers, except they aren't a family, they are a marketing tool designed to get their neighbors to buy as many products as they can by demonstrating how empty their lives are without these products.
They only succeed if the neighbors buy their products. Very serious questions being asked about rampant consumerism.
