Review of The Jerk (1979) by Kami L — 06 May 2008

First of all, it's not bad...it's SUPER BAD.

Steve Martin was really funny in the early days. That's why I thought it was impossible for him to get involved in such shit as this in 1979. But...he did. What else can I say, script is horrible, one liners seem like the surplus of left overs from the worst Zucker/Abrahams movie ever made and.. just nothing at all works. At any level.

I can't believe "The Jerk" was a hit when it came out. Check out "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" if you want to see a quality Steve Martin movie or "Roxanne" for OK one. Hell, nearly his every 80's movie is better than this. AVOID!
