Review of The Italian Job (1969) by Jerard W — 24 Dec 2008
An enjoyable movie, that is more than just a heist film but some simple insights on cultural sensibilites. Noel Coward is hilarious as the Aristocratic Prisoner who is financing the job from prison but to the prisoners he's the King of England. The quirky crew with a perfect straight man leader with Michael Caine aids in supporting the heist.
The views of the Mini Coopers zipping around Turin are incredible and it heightens the activity, making these features along with the city additional characters in the film. To where you feel the curves in every road and the body language of the Turinos.
An entertaining and stylish caper.
