Review of The Italian Job (1969) by Jason J — 10 Nov 2009
A film that makes me proud to be British, the Italian Job is not only one of the best caper films I've ever seen, but it's one of the most entertaining ever. The dialogue actually sounds like people talking, which is perfect in the context of the film.
Michael Caine is perfect in the lead role, and the rest of the acting is natural too. The story is well thought out, and one thing I love is the subtle references to Britain, such as the three Minis being Red, White and Blue.
It's funny when it wants to be, and you are laughing because it wants you to. A Must See.
