One of the best caper films I have ever seen, with one of the best car chases in film history. Michael Caine is one of my favorite actors and his talents shine throughout the film. Great film with a wonderful cliffhanger ending.
The final line of the film was absolutely classic, right on the level with "Some Like It Hot" and "The Apartment". I personally could not understand how some critics panned this film.
Sure, Noel Coward has his critics but the script was very edgy and the action was superb. Who cares if the car chase was predictable? It still serves as one of the standards of car chase scenes in cinema history.
Definitely still better than the 2003 remake.
