Review of The Italian Job (1969) by Ben S — 08 Aug 2012
This is one of the all time classic British films that is well known to everyone, young and old. The film is about a group of British criminals that travel to Italy to steal some gold the Chinese were giving to Fiat. The heist is done so cleverly and as such it is a really enjoyable film to watch. The cast is pretty good with the best actor being Michael Caine, however not many people these days will know many of the actors as the film was made in 1969 so many of the actors are either dead or retired. Despite the film being about a robbery it is actually quite a funny film, especially in its stereotype view of Italians. There are also lots of great one liners, one of which has become particularly famous. The only downside to this film is that a lot of nice cars are destroyed and it is a bit outdated but despite these things it is an excellent film that you need to see at some point in your life as it will always remain one of the great classics.
