Review of The Italian Job (1969) by Paul R — 28 Nov 2012
Michael Caine is Charlie Croker, a typical but lovable Caine character - a cockney, loud and constantly accusing character - on his release from prison he takes over a high risk heist in Italy with three mini Coopers and an elaborate escape plan.
It's a fabulous classic Brit-flick that always ticks all the boxes. It will always make you laugh and is an action packed caper set in the lovely backdrop of Italy. With an unforgettable soundtrack and being ultimately quotable.
The scenes with the Mini Coopers has some superb direction with great pans and angles. It all makes for an extremely entertaining ride with a pay off you won't forget in a hurry.
