Review of The Island on Bird Street (1997) by Kozie B — 08 Aug 2013
This was a very watchable movie made from a children's book which won the author a prestigious award. It is "semi-biographical", which means not really what happened -- and it is rather unbelievable.
...but who knows? There are many true and miraculous stories of survival. This was a movie well-made about the persecution of the Jews by the Nazis; a story that makes you hope it happened - that some survived and were reunited with their families.
