Review of The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996) by Josh — 05 Jul 2008
I've seen this movie a couple of times but I didn't realize I liked it until I recorded over the tape it was on... Now I kinda miss it so I guess I did like it. It's pretty twisted though and there's a lot of mindless shrieking and violence that sort of made me zone out during the final "battle".
.. In retrospect, Fairuza Balk's character is the most interesting in this movie. Her (brief and few) scenes are the ones that stay in your mind. As a side note, this movie helped me discover the song "Night Bird" by Deep Forest.
(I also recommend the 2004 remix).
