Review of The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996) by John Y — 26 Jun 2018
Those critics who call it a 'mess' completely miss Frankenheimer's goals and process. The story and plot are in fact messy with countless questions of morality and reality, and Frankenheimer depicts the mishmash with frightening distortion, played beautifully by all, Brando, Kilmer, and Thewlis! Perlman and Balk also turn in extremely good warped characterisations.
