Review of The Island (2007) by V V — 07 Jul 2011
The great imagery aside, the film is thin on the very thing it delivers in a first hand. Characters are seducing, but lacking the depth. The story is full of allegories - yet it leaves a rather uneasy feeling that nothing was said and nothing was done.
One thing is sure, it's not near Tarkovsky or Zvyagintsev.
