Review of The Island (2006) by Curtis H — 28 Dec 2011
Not that good, could of been a lot more. Had it been in the hands of a different Director (who was Michael Bay). I usually enjoy Bay's popcorn movies (ie. Transformers, The Rock, Armageddon) but here it does a disservice to the story.
In the Bonus Features there is a clip where Bay says that he had told the writers of the script to not bother writing anything if there was any action "Just write action" was his comment. Again I fine with that some of the time but with this concept it could of been and I'll say it again, a lot more.
