Review of The Island (2006) by Volo M — 27 Jan 2012
Without giving a damn about the plagiarism, right now, I'll say this was a brilliant film. Full of tension from beginning to end and hoards of good ideas, even if the right people weren't credited for it. Let that be on Michael Bay's and his sponsor's conscience. Still, I got the feeling this film didn't resort to clichà (C)s or rather perhaps used them to their advantage.
It seems Michael Bay is a hypocrite, yet this film adresses quite a bunch of current issues while of course, thankfully, there being no threat of the main plot taking effect in our world.
In the end, one always dislikes something, and here the cast rubs me the wrong way. Oh well, can't have everything... (December 2011, 4/5).
Second time was boring.
