Review of The Island (2006) by Daniel A — 01 Feb 2014
Starts really strong but falls apart as it takes too long to get to its inevitable conclusion. But hands down great production design, cinematography, editing, sound and music. Even the performances from McGregor and Johansson are good.
But it's the writing and story that drag this piece down from being great sci-fi. I immediately sensed that "The Island" was a scam from the start, so it took away any mystery that might have made this movie better.
In the end, it was a good watch once. It just won't stand the test of time as something to go back to re-experience.
