Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Zoran S — 29 Jun 2012
The five stars are not reflective of the story, it's pretty vague with some semblance of a walk through Thatcher's life via a series of flashbacks. Historical value it's a short history lesson but it's Meryl Streep's acting that is the tour de force.
Her observations of Maggie Thatch in voice and movement from her days in office to her latter years is incredible. The final scene with little dialogue is one of Streep's finest, her gentle yet awkward walk and light touching of furniture leaves you pondering your own mortality.
Amazing master class in biopic acting. Well worth the Oscar.
