Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Ohsnappage . — 13 Jan 2013
Superb performance by Meryl Streep however the story of the film was extremely poor. This was more of a hit piece on the great Margaret Thatcher portraying her as a flawed weak character. There is a great story on the life of MargaretThatcher to be told but this film is not it.
I was uninterested in watching this film in its entirety as it seemed to go on and on in a depressing manner. Originally looked forward to seeing this film but after an hour I had to turn it off. Rather living through the life and times of her history, which is how the story should have been told, the director breaks up tidbit moments of her past in flashback scenarios as we are instead living through the moment of an elderly challenged alone woman struggling around her apartment which is about as entertaining as watching grass grow.
This was a waste of time. The only saving grace was the acting which was good and the costumes were brilliant.
