Meryl Streep is the only good part in this bland and forgettable movie. This movie was not directed well because Phyllida Lloyd doesn't know how and when to cut to the past and present. Everybody else's acting is forgettable and they all rely on Meryl Streep to make scenes semi interesting.
Jim Broadbent was annoying at parts. The screenplay most of the time was not the least bit interesting. If you want to watch a better directed and better acted biographical picture, your better off watching Lincoln.
