Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Buggy B — 26 Feb 2014
Some of the best acting I've ever seen, honestly Meryl Streep is amazing here, completely embodying Thatcher in a way that you almost can't believe. Her makeup and the aging process she undergoes is pretty incredible too.
The story and movie itself wasn't all that impressive, kinda dry and skimming over just how influential she was as a woman leading the UK though the 1980's. For a bio I also never felt like I got to know the real Margaret Thatcher, as this more follows her later years as a lonely and confused old woman, a virtual prisoner in her own home, drinking too much and living with the ghost of her dead husband while she reflects on her life.
Worth watching though just to see Meryl Streep do her thing. 02.23.14.
