Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Philip S — 27 Feb 2014
Streep is terrific (surprise!) but the movie is a disappointment. This isn't so much a biopic as the (unverifiable) story of a semi-senile old lady hallucinating about her dead husband. With the exception of a handful of flashbacks, this could have been the story of ANY quirky, spirited old lady; and despite the solid cast, the storytelling is movie-of-the-week calibre.
A wasted opportunity.
