Review of The Iron Giant (1999) by Jon C — 13 Feb 2013
For 1999:
Brad Bird has managed to make another animated classic that can totally appeal to every child and parent.
Bird from PIXAR makes a similar 'E.T.' story about an alien robot that crash lands on Earth, befriends a young boy with a single mother, and desperatley adjusts to modern human life and keeping a low profile.
The young boy, Hogarth along with his buddy Dean make this Iron Giant voiced by Vin Diesel feel right at home.
You are who you choose to be is a great message for everyone to get on board with.
The movie is wonderfully drawn, has a good amount of action, funny when it has to be and pretty sentimental when it comes to that strong interstellar friendship of two different beings.
It's insanely short but you will want to watch it repeatedly.
