Review of The Ipcress File (1965) by Craig F — 05 Jan 2008
An excellent, if somewhat dated, spy movie. A more intelligent and less fantastic movie than most of the Bond series. There are parts of the plot which are somewhat out-there by today's standards, but that doesn't prevent the continued adoration of the early Bond films so it should not hamper the Palmer films.
The most amazing thing about the differences between Ipcress and the Bond series is that they share a good deal of the production staff including the producer Harry Saltzman, editor Peter Hunt, and composer John Barry.
