Review of The Ipcress File (1965) by Bill T — 17 Feb 2011
Fun and interesting spy film with brains over brawn (like Mr. Bond) that features a heavily polished script about spies, espionage and pure sneaky-goings-on. Michael Caine plays a not-perfect spy dealing with the mundane day-to-day stuff a spy has to go through (lots of paperwork with irrelevant numbered detail) and gets plunked into a caper that he might not be ready for, but needs to, in a hurry.
Didn't Michael Caine himself say this was one of his favorite movies? With good reason. Oh and another thing, this thing is so imaginatively shot. Full of awesome camera angles, deoth of field and deep focus.
Not to be missed!
