Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Ben Y — 15 Dec 2011
Started out pretty great but ended up biting off more than it could chew. It just felt like the third act was kind of weighed down by the pointless love story which, in my opinion, was pretty much resolved after the first scene of the movie.
It makes me wonder about the greatness this film could have achieved if not for Jennifer Garner's manly visage announcing itself upon every scene. I applaud Gervais' performance(particularly the scene with his Mom) and he was good enough overall to keep this film from failing miserably.
The Man in the Sky bit was gold, though.
