Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Captgeech — 02 Mar 2018
I'm quite surprised this movie is rated so low. This is a very entertaining film that is unique in ways you don't see the likes of very often. The idea from the jump is an interesting premise, a world without lying, but it sustains itself on clever scenarios and ideas and is also very thought provoking at times.
Sure there aren't any laugh until you cry moments, but the comedy is solid and will keep a smile on your face while realizing how much of our world really does function on lies. There aren't many movies I'd score an 8, AND call it an absolute must see movie.
That's usually reserved for a 10. But this one is a different beast, and I believe it is indeed a must-watch for fans of film in general.
